The safari vehicle is the crew's transport and the place the route is chosen. Fill its seats, belt the passengers, then pick safe or dangerous. Roads are the fast surface. Off-road the vehicle crawls, which is how a night deadline gets lost. It can jump, it can wedge into a rock, and crews warn each other not to drive into the lake. Park and walk when a cave or pyramid needs it. You can film from the driver seat.
Damage and the Q repair
Elephants ram the bus until it chars and burns. A chasing animal can flip it. Storms are a reason crews repair before they drive off. A badly damaged car slows to a crawl, catches fire, or stops moving. One driver described a bus with one hit left that would not go anywhere.
Repair is physical:
- Get out and find the wrench near where you stopped. It is a field pickup, not a shop item, and crews lose track of it mid-crisis.
- Free an inventory slot if the pickup is blocked.
- Pick the part up with Q, then use it on the vehicle. Q is the only repair control consistently shown. Other driving keys are not documented.
- Confirm it drives fast again before you resume filming.
Repair before the return leg. A slow crawl is what misses nightfall. If it breaks again late, stop filming and drive for camp, or leave the wreck if it will not move. One group finished a run with no vehicle at all. No replacement price is documented, so treat a destroyed bus as a lost tool for that day.
Upgrades that footage actually shows
The upgrade option can appear during a run. One duo noticed it while income sat around 1,000. That figure is when they noticed it, not an unlock price. A later session still had the earlier purchase, so at least one series kept the upgrade between recordings.
| Entry | What was confirmed | State on film |
|---|---|---|
| Steel bumper | Bought, and the front end looked different | Owned. Price never shown. Effect seen is visual. |
| Armored bumper | Named in the menu | Locked. A buy attempt did not go through. Reason unknown. |
| Reinforced tires | Named in the menu | Locked. No grip or protection test. |
| Four-seat expansion | Car counted to 4 seats and carried passengers | Change confirmed. The menu used was not filmed, so it may be a separate modification. |
Do not buy armored bumper or reinforced tires for a stat the name suggests. No recording shows protection or handling numbers. If a purchase fails, funds, lock, and already owning a bumper are all possible. The video does not say which.
There is no verified first-buy ranking. A steel bumper is the only completed cosmetic change. Extra seats help a crew that is dropping travelers, and they are not the five-player cap. Exact costs are absent, so read the price in your own menu.
Passenger fear, hunger, and seatbelts are half of driving. Those steps sit with the jobs in Split a 1 to 5 player crew. The night deadline those repairs protect is Return before dark.
